Frequently Asked Dog Training Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What kind of training methods do you use?

I use positive reinforcement-based training, which means we reward the behaviours we want to see more of. It's modern, science-backed, and effective for all breeds and temperaments. This approach builds trust, boosts confidence, and creates lasting behaviour change—without fear or punishment.

  • Will I see results quickly?

Yes! Many clients see meaningful changes after just one session. I focus on giving you clear, repeatable strategies that make sense for real life. You’ll not only see progress—you’ll know how to keep it going at home with simple tools and techniques.

  • What kind of support do I get?

You’re never on your own. You’ll have full access to me via text or email between sessions for questions, updates, or just a bit of guidance when things get tricky. Think of me as your on-call behaviour detective.

  • Do you offer a guarantee?

Yes, I do—unlike most dog trainers, I offer a results guarantee:
I guarantee you’ll see progress and understand your dog better after just one session. No fine print, just honest support.

  • Is in-person or online training better?

Both can be incredibly effective. In-person sessions are great for hands-on practice, but online training can actually be better for fearful, reactive dogs or young puppies, as it reduces distractions and stress. Sometimes, learning in a calm, familiar space helps dogs—and owners—focus better.

  • What behaviours do you work with?

I work with dogs aged 8 weeks and up on a wide range of behaviours, including:

Barking, lunging or reactivity, lead pulling, puppy nipping and destructive chewing, jumping up, focus and recall, general manners and more!

  • Is my dog too old to train?

Not at all! Dogs of all ages can learn. In fact, older dogs often thrive with the right kind of support and a clear, reward-based approach.

  • How much does it cost?

The average price for training (when all is said and done) is £200. I do have a £65 option depending on your location and training experience. I really don’t want cost to be the main factor in helping your dog so let’s talk about it!

  • What's included in the FREE Consult?

I will call you at a pre-arranged time. We will discuss all of the things that you have on your mind regarding your dog. I will offer advice, and my recommendations for training. You can also ask any questions you have of me.
